Another wonder Team enters the ring from Argentina….Meet Lautero and Mauro of Buenos Aires.
Two Young Men who will be going far.
I was able to acquire this, my first piece hopefully of many and it exceeded my expectations.
In Lautero’s words-
“The blade of this Bowie, is made from a damascus steel blank (steel 1095 and 15n20) w ladder pattern, 13” long. The guard, collar, and the pommel is made of steel hot blued. Handle of Ebony Gabon. The sheath of leather
with lizard skin insert.”
Now my thoughts- For a Knife that is over 18″ OAL the feel of this piece is just right. Fullers on both sides as well as a nicely forged and ground Blade make for a lively Bowie in the hand. Handle and Fittings are beautifully done and Ebony was a great choice to flute.
The Scabbard alone is worth the price of admission.
