Bob Loveless, arguably one of the most famous American knife makers, gained recognition for his screw-type handle fasteners, hollow-ground drop point blades, and the use of full tapered tangs. Many knife collectors and knifemakers state that he was one of the most innovative custom knife makers in the world. Throughout the years, Loveless got his start by hand-making knives for Abercrombie & Fitch in the 1950’s; his knives quickly outsold all of the company’s hand-made items, securing his name in the world of knife making. Loveless went on to fashion knives for the CIA, the US Army Special Forces, Gerber Knives, Beretta, Schrade Cutlery, and was credited as the first maker of a tactical knife. Loveless was also a founding member of the Knifemakers’ Guild. Currently, we have one Loveless piece in stock – a beautiful Amber Stag New York Special. A Loveless knife is often one of the highlights of any serious knife collector’s gallery.
Wolfe Loerchner began making knives in 1984, using only hand tools to craft the fittings, blades, and handles of each custom knife. Since each piece is handmade – and therefore time-consuming – almost every single one of his creations is a one-of-a-kind. Wolfe’s work is known for his flowing lines, impeccable work, and superior craftsmanship. Knife collectors can all agree that he is one of the most skilled artisans in the world of knife making, with a level of workmanship that is incredibly difficult to match.
We currently have a Wolfe Loerchner Art Folder for sale in our gallery. The blade is immaculate, with the handle made from Damascus and blacklip pearl. As with all of Wolfe’s creations, this piece will be sure to take your breath away each time you see it. Many people often question how his work is made from human hands: you have to see it to believe it.
Michael Walker is a well-renowned knifemaker responsible for the Walker Linerlock, which is the industry standard in folding knife mechanisms; Walker also holds 20 patents or trademarks on different mechanisms used in locks, pocketknives, and composite cutting blades. His blades can
be seen in shows and galleries around the world, and his work has inspired multiple knifemakers – such as Ernest Emerson and Bob Terzuola – to explore their career in custom knifemaking. Many companies – Columbia River Knife and Tool, Spyderco, Schrade, and Böker, to name a few – have partnered with Walker due to his innovative designs in knife safety and function.
We currently have three pieces by Walker in stock: three beautiful folding-blade knives. The knife we are featuring today is an immaculate folder: the blade is made from Damascus, with a rose gold button that locks and unlocks the blade, while simultaneously serving as the opening stud. This piece represents the epitome of Walker’s work, utilizing his unique locking mechanisms, zippers, and linerlocking folding technology.
